Bossier Millennial Pro: Lindsey Phillips

Bossier is home to a wide array of young professionals who are making a name for themselves and working to take over as future leaders. We sit down with one of them each month to find out why they love Bossier and what they want to do moving forward.

This month’s Bossier Millennial Pro is Lindsey Phillips. A south Arkansas native, Lindsey became familiar with Bossier after traveling from her hometown of Lewisville for shopping trips. After graduating from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR, in 2016, she relocated to the area full-time. She loves spending time with her two cats, traveling and going to the gym. But let’s find out a little bit more…

1. What do you do and why?

I work for the technology company, Technologix. We provide technology solutions and manage IT services to a huge variety of industries across the ArkLaTex, everything from healthcare to construction. I work as the service coordinator, so when a client calls in, I’m the first person they talk to. I create the ticket to be assigned to an engineer. Being the first-person people talk to when they’re more than likely annoyed with a complicated computer issue means my main job is making the clients feel a little more relieved. I love helping people and bringing happiness to people’s day so Technologix is the best place to be.

2. Why do you live in Bossier?

I moved to Bossier a few months before graduating from SAU. I thought I needed to get out of my tiny town and saw Bossier as my best opportunity to find a job with my new degree. It wasn’t a difficult decision, I kind of always thought I would be here. And it has ended up being the best decision, with the people I’ve met and the experiences I’ve had.

3. What is your favorite thing about Bossier?

I would have to say my favorite thing about Bossier is all the outdoor things available. While there are some fun shops, I love all the open areas to walk and the little trails you can find. I’ve never felt like this area was geared towards a certain age group, so everyone can find something fun to do. And, of course, being from such a small town, we’re so close to everything!

4. Where do you like to hang out and why?

Honestly, I hang out at the gym more than anywhere else. I love going to Bilbo Baggins Pub for a game of pool with friends. But, truthfully, if I’m not home watching “Friends,” I am probably at the gym or at the park walking the trails by the river.

5. What is your favorite thing to do in Bossier?

Having never really participated in Mardi Gras other than eating a king cake, I would have to say my favorite thing about Bossier is the Mardi Gras season! It’s like a Louisiana Christmas. I love the decor and excitement around the parades. It has become my favorite holiday since moving down here!

6. What do you want to accomplish in the future?

All I can hope to accomplish in the future is health and happiness. I would love to one day start working towards my Master’s degree in science with LSUS and move further up in my career. I love the Bossier area and hope to buy a home here one day.

7. If you could tell people one thing about life in Bossier, what would that be?

You get all the great stuff about living in the city in just the right size. Not too big, not too small. We have everything you need for shops and eating, but you’ll see someone you know walking around Walmart!
