It’s Christmas time in Bossier Parish, and this December, there will be all sorts of festive, joyful celebrations. From traditional concerts that will rock and warm the heart to outdoor festivals with parades, lights, and fireworks, there’s something for everyone this holiday season. 

Trans-Siberian Orchestra in Concert

It’s time for an annual holiday tradition for those who want to rock out to traditional Christmas songs! Trans-Siberian Orchestra returns to Bossier City with their beloved rock opera, “THE LOST CHRISTMAS EVE.” The band puts on a seasonal spectacular that is a must for holiday lovers.

32nd Annual Christmas Show

Bossier Parish Community College, in partnership with the City of Bossier City, is giving its traditional heartfelt “gift to Bossier City” with the production of Santa’s Wintertime Adventure. Spreading holiday cheer to families by transforming the BPCC Theatre into a magical winter wonderland featuring favorite characters like Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty, and a host of jolly elves, audiences will be treated to a delightful mix of holiday classics and modern favorites, brought to life by BPCC’s talented Student Life Groups After each show, children can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus to share their holiday wishes. Guests are encouraged to bring canned food donations to benefit The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

When: Dec 6 and 7, at 6:30 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.

24th Annual Christmas on the Square Festival & Parade

This annual festive event for Benton and all Bossier Parish residents will be held at Heritage Village Square on Sibley Street. The celebration full of holiday activities starts at 10 a.m. and runs to 5 p.m., rain or shine, with the vendors set up in downtown Benton for Christmas shoppers, a kids zone, food, and photos with Santa. The annual highlight is the parade that starts at 3 p.m. Parking is free and there is a shuttle at the Bossier Parish Court House on Burt Boulevard.

2024 East Bank Cultural District Holiday Market

It’s that time of the year again! The Bossier Arts Council is inviting you to come out and get your Christmas Shopping knocked out at this year’s Holiday Market in the East Bank! There will be a large selection of locally sourced artists, makers, and crafters, all of which will have their booths decked out with holiday decor! Unique food trucks and stalls will also be available with live holiday music performed by the Bossier Schools TAP Students and photo opportunities with the Grinch! The enormous East Bank Christmas Tree will be lit with each vendor booth strung up in lights as well!

LSU Women’s Basketball versus Grambling St. 

Now’s your chance to see the recent national champions in your own backyard as the LSU national powerhouse women’s basketball team visits northwest Louisiana. It will be Tigers vs. Tigers as LSU takes on the local Grambling State University women’s team at a special nonconference game in Bossier City.

Bossier City Gun & Knife Show

The Bossier City Gun & Knife Show will be held at the Bossier City Civic Center and is promoted by Classic Arms Productions. Bring your gun and trade for the gun you always wanted. See the hundreds of displays of new and old guns, ammo, gun parts, books, knives, jewelry, camouflage, militaria and related items at discount prices. General admission is $10, admission for children 6-11 is $2, and admission for children under 6 is free. Under 18 will be admitted with a parent only.

When: Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bossier Holiday Night Market

The largest one-day vendor event in the U.S. returns with the Bossier Holiday Night Market. Set to the backdrop of 75,000-plus twinkling lights and Christmas music, shoppers can indulge in more than 250 vendors, 15 food trucks, kids’ activities, free Bossier swag, and giveaways. This free event is pet-friendly and includes an indoor air-conditioned seating area and free parking.

Rally on the Red

A regular holiday tradition for Bossier-Shreveport is the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. Rally on the Red gets locals and visiting fans four free events to look forward to, even if you’re not a fan of big-time college football.

  1. First up is the Mardi Gras Preview Parade that runs through the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets and East Bank District. Get an early taste of what is to come during the Mardi Gras season with this Mardi Gras Preview Parade featuring floats from a variety of local Mardi Gras Krewes and the two Independence Bowl universities’ bands and spirit squads.

When: Dec. 27, at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Starts at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets

  1. Next up is the Battle of the Bands with the two university marching bands and spirit squads going head-to-head in a show of school spirit, surrounded by fans and neutral locals cheering them on.

Where: East Bank Plaza in Bossier City’s East Bank District

  1. The celebration continues with a fireworks show located right behind the East Bank Plaza and Hurricane Alley that everyone who is at the events or dining at one of the district’s restaurants can enjoy.

  1. Rally on the Red culminates with a free concert with the Spazmatics offering up 80s new wave toons at Hurricane Alley, a great outdoor music venue with access to three restaurants and bars.
