Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery Brings a Little Sweetness to Benton

Attention all sugar lovers! There is a sweet addition to the Bossier Parish business community.

Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery is a cherished spot for Bossier residents seeking delightful desserts and a welcoming atmosphere.

The local, family-owned bakery is nestled in Benton and offers gourmet cupcakes baked fresh daily along with homemade ice cream and a variety of other treats.

Bossier residents with a sweet tooth can choose from their menu of cupcakes which rotates from specialty flavors along with cake pops, brownies, cookie sandwiches, macarons, and more. In addition, Smallcakes has special seasonal items such as chocolate-covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day and king cake cheesecake for Mardi Gras. They can also accommodate custom orders for special occasions, such as birthday cakes.

Owner Christina Weber runs the bakery with her husband of eight years, Brad. The Rocky Mount residents broke from the norm of setting up shop on Airline Drive, instead locating further north because they wanted to offer north Bossier and Benton residents a convenient place to grab treats for their families.

Christina emphasized how important their business can be for the community by highlighting the happiness it brings to their patrons.

“When we started this journey, my main prayer for this business was for God to use us to reach people and make a difference for good,” she said. “Also, cupcakes bring people joy, and that brings me joy.”

When it came to starting her own business and deciding to open a bakery, the mother of four and grandmother of five, came across Smallcakes in Texas while on the job.

“Through my full-time career, I would deliver lunches and treats to customers. I found Smallcakes in Longview, Texas, and fell in love with the products and brand,” she said. “After dreaming about opening a location for seven years, we decided to make the leap of faith and open our own cupcakery and creamery.”

Now, the business recently marked its first anniversary. They set themselves apart with great customer service and fresh treats, making their goodies anew every day…even if that means their day at the bakery starts at 5:30 a.m.

“We put a lot of care into what we offer customers. Our cupcakes are made fresh and so is our ice cream, which is unique,” Christina said. “Since we’re here early, we also open at 7 a.m. to offer breakfast items like breakfast sliders, cinnamon rolls, and more.”

Even though the days are long and there is a great amount of care put into crafting Smallcakes’ sweets, Christina points out that the work is worth it to see their dream realized especially, when they witness firsthand how baked goods or ice cream is impacting Bossier.

“We love it when we get to see families come together for quality time at our bakery,” she said. “We love being able to be here for the north Bossier and Benton community and are so thankful to them, their support has meant so much to us.”

Located at 601 Kingston Rd, Suite 400, in Benton, Smallcakes is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. In addition to in-store purchases, Smallcakes Benton offers online ordering for customer convenience. For more information, visit their website.
