Summer is winding down across Bossier Parish, but don’t fret, as the fun keeps coming thanks to a slew of events. You can test your knowledge at trivia, pick one of several concerts, see some unique art, or have a special date night this month. If you need more variety, then feel free to pick from one of these August events in Bossier:
Weekly Trivia
Test your knowledge every Tuesday in August at 7th Tap. Come down with a team of friends, or yourself, and enjoy brews and burgers while putting your brain to the test for a gift card.

Opening Reception for Unnatural Nature
The Bossier Arts Council’s East Bank Gallery is playing host in August and September to a bizarre whimsy of oddities with “Unnatural Nature: Uncanny Creatures & Delightful Abominations” by local artist Nick Furlong. These clay sculptures, influenced by pop art, surrealism, and comics, play with the themes of nature as shaped by science fiction. His art will be on display through September 24.
When: Aug 8 from 6-8 p.m.

Bossier City Gun Show
The Bossier City Gun Show allows enthusiasts to trade for the gun they’ve always wanted while viewing hundreds of displays featuring new and vintage guns, ammunition, gun parts, books, knives, jewelry, camouflage, militaria, and related items. General admission is $10, admission for children 6-11 is $2, and admission for children under 6 is free. Under 18 will be admitted with parents only.
When: Aug 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

KC and the Sunshine Band in Concert
Disco and funk legends stop in Bossier City on their “Doin’ It” World Tour. Known for such radio staples as “Get Down Tonight” and “That’s the Way I Like It” among others, the group has had five No. 1 singles, and now is the time to see them in your hometown!

Cypress Date Night
Cypress Baptist Church is holding a special event for couples to strengthen their relationship in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. This is an evening made for connection, laughter, and romance, no matter if you’ve been with each other for 2 weeks or 2 decades. Cost is $100 per couple and includes a four-course meal catered by Gullo’s.

Marshall Tucker Band in Concert
The Southern Rock legends bring their timeless sound to Bossier City. Having inspired generations of artists and entertained as countless fans, see them live at the Paradise Theater this summer.

Adult Field Day
This special event for military and their families will allow you to relive your inner child by hosting a day of friendly competition via field day games with adult twists. Teams of four undertake challenges to relive past glories, laugh, and take a hit of nostalgia. If you are enlisted military or dependent, or civilian, call (318) 456-3426 to register.

Tiger Color Run
Add some color to your life and celebrate your community with The Tiger Color Run 5K. The run/walk features chalk paint stations where you’ll be splashed with colors while you support Project Graduation for the Benton High School Class of 2026. Your fun run helps provide a safe and memorable celebration for seniors.
