Not only is this a fun experience, but it can also be a great learning opportunity. Talk with your children about how flowers grow and how farms operate. Kids will love the hands-on experience of choosing their own flowers, and they’ll feel proud bringing home a bouquet they picked themselves. The farm will open for the season on April 11, 2026, at 9 a.m.

For a relaxed outing, stop by Streetcar Station Snowballs and take a stroll through the East Bank District. After grabbing a snowball, families can enjoy the open seating areas and walkable spaces throughout the district. It’s a great place to slow down, chat, and let kids move.

  Hosted at Freedom Fields, this free event is packed with family fun. Activities include Easter egg hunts for various age groups, bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, and plenty of entertainment for kids.

A Simple Family Outing at the Boardwalk

A trip to the Louisiana Boardwalk can also be an affordable way to spend time together. Kids may enjoy visiting Build-A-Bear, grabbing candy or cookies at SNAX, or cooling off with an Icee drink.

Families can sit by the water and enjoy the view. If you want to extend the outing, it’s also a great place to end the evening with dinner, a movie, or walking to The Bass Pro Shop to visit their aquarium.
