Holiday Lanes in Bossier Celebrates 64 Years of Family Fun

One of the oldest bowling alleys in Louisiana, Holiday Lanes in Bossier, has been bringing in family fun for six decades. When opening, the Coleman Family had a goal to provide a location for families and friends to come together and create memories.

“My dad built it in 1960 when we were growing up in Bossier,” owner Melanie Coleman said. “I have owned it with my two brothers since Dad died in 2004.”

From birthday parties to work events, this family business can host everything and thanks to their new renovations, they can do so with ease and modern style.

This historically marked location’s renovations were completed in October 2023 to allow them to continue serving Bossier in the best way. They’ve upgraded technology throughout the alley from mobile ordering kiosks conveniently located near the lanes, where you can order food from the Strikers Bar and Grill to be delivered to your lane, to the Holiday Lanes Arcade.

“We understand that history and technology can work together and bring families together,” said Chelsie Sherwood, General Manager and Director of Marketing.

With these new updates, they have also redone their lounge and it can now be rented out for private events like reunions, birthday celebrations, and even work luncheons. At their lounge bar, there are beers on tap and a variety of drinks that can be mixed to please anyone in the crowd. If you’d like catering to be provided, Holiday Lanes has a renovated kitchen dedicated to catering.

Each television in the lounge is a Roku TV, allowing them to stream anything needed for employee gatherings or special events. The streaming capabilities are also included in the televisions on their screened-in patio.

Holiday Lanes has continued to move entertainment forward with fun events like Glow Bowling, where the lights go down and the black lights come on, and even themed nights like their most recent and successful “Western Night” event.

Looking for something fun to do during the summer? At Holiday Lanes kids ages two to 15 bowl for free. Before arriving, you can sign your child up to bowl by visiting their website or find the QR codes located conveniently at the front counter to register them there. Once you arrive, they will assign you to a lane and provide you with the necessary shoes.

Bowlers are welcome to claim a lane upon arrival but are encouraged to reserve a lane on busy days like weekends and nights when Glow Bowling will be taking place.

While you’re playing, don’t forget to fuel up at Striker’s Bar and Grill with some of their delicious food options like their chicken and waffles sandwich or a fried fish dinner. If you’re feeding the crew, you can also make your own pizza with a large selection of toppings. If you’re thirsty, no visit to Holiday Lanes is complete without one of their cold and refreshing Icees.

If you’re not ready to leave once your time is up, visit their arcade. Their arcade has over 50 games to try to win prizes from. You won’t have to worry about keeping up with tokens or tickets because they offer a reloadable card to track your winning points and plays left.

Holiday Lanes has continued to bring families together over the years.

“What’s cool is that so many people I meet have great memories of being here through the years with family and friends,” Coleman said.

The Colemans have a goal of bringing another 64 more years of fun and community to schools, companies and churches.

Grab some friends and let the good times bowl!
