Something Fresh in Bossier: A First Look at Top Shawarma

If you’re looking for something fresh, flavorful, and a little different from your usual lunch or dinner spot, there’s a new restaurant in Bossier City worth adding to your list.

Located at 2307 E. Texas Street, Top Shawarma brings authentic Middle Eastern flavors to Bossier City with a menu featuring chicken and beef shawarma, gyro wraps, falafel, hummus, fresh salads, warm pita, customizable bowls, and more. With meats cooking right on the rotisserie and meals prepared to order, freshness is a big part of the experience.

For those unfamiliar with shawarma, it’s a popular Middle Eastern dish made with seasoned meat that is slowly cooked on a vertical rotisserie and sliced as it cooks. At Top Shawarma, you can see that process happening right behind the counter.

What’s on the Menu?

Top Shawarma’s menu gives customers plenty of ways to experience Middle Eastern cuisine, whether you already know exactly what you want or you’re trying these flavors for the first time.

You’ll find gyro wraps filled with meat, fresh toppings, and sauce, along with shawarma, hummus, pita, salads, and falafel. Falafel may be unfamiliar to some first-time visitors. The popular Middle Eastern dish is traditionally made with chickpeas or fava beans blended with herbs and seasonings, formed into balls or patties, and fried until crisp.

The menu also offers more familiar options, including fries, loaded feta fries, and chicken nuggets for the kids, making it easier to find something for everyone.

And if this is your first time trying Middle Eastern food and you aren’t quite sure where to begin, don’t be afraid to ask.

First-time customer Christine Owens shared, “The staff was really helpful and helped me decide what to order.  Everything was fresh, hot, and made to order.”

Build Your Bowl, Your Way

One of Top Shawarma’s popular menu choices is the build-your-own bowl, and the concept is all about getting exactly what you want.

Start with your base, choose your protein, add fresh toppings, and finish your bowl with your favorite sauces. With so many combinations available, you can keep things simple or load your bowl with a little bit of everything.

One unexpected standout was the rice, which brought a familiar Louisiana-style flavor to the experience.

“I wasn’t expecting the rice to have that little kick to it, but it was really good,” Owens said.

And you’ll want to come hungry. The portions at Top Shawarma are generous. Between the protein, rice, fresh toppings, sauces, and sides, you’re getting plenty of food for your money. Don’t be surprised if you’re packing up a container to enjoy later.

Something Different for Bossier

Beyond what’s on the plate, Top Shawarma adds another type of cuisine to Bossier City’s growing restaurant scene.

“I’m happy to see a new restaurant bringing something new and different to the area,” said Owens.

That variety gives local diners a chance to step outside their usual orders. For those who already love Middle Eastern cuisine, familiar favorites are waiting, and for those experiencing it for the first time, customizable options and helpful staff can make trying something new a little easier.
