Digifest South 2017: All You Need to Know

DigiFest South is back for its fifth year, offering the creative minds in the Shreveport-Bossier area a chance to experience art, music, gaming, robotics and technology all rolled into a week of technology-focused learning. Your scary movies and haunted houses will have to take a backseat this October. With a full lineup of special events, contests and hands-on exhibits, DigiFest South is sure to provide all the thrills you crave.

Advancements in technology are all around us, and they are not going anywhere anytime soon. Schools from all over the region bring students to propel their young minds into another realm of possibilities. In many instances, younger students know more about what is currently on the market than adults do. DigiFest South is a great way to highlight the best and brightest our area has to offer while quite possibly teaching the students a thing or two. And, really, what kid does not love a good field trip?

One of the most anticipated events this year is the DigiFest South Expo held in the Bossier Civic Center. Brandon Crist, Marketing Coordinator for Bossier Arts Council, states that the goal of the Expo is to utilize the STEAM movement (placing art and design at the center of STEM subjects) to help facilitate “the United States as a leader in education and as an innovative economy, to help fuel passion in students in more technical fields. The region’s greatest innovators in engineering, art and math will be available to show students that math and science are fun and exciting, and that tangible opportunities are available in the Shreveport-Bossier area.”
