Bossier Millennial Pro Josh Robinson

Bossier Millennial Pro: Josh Robinson

Bossier is home to a growing population of young people doing amazing things. Meet one of the millennials who will soon be taking up a leadership role in the community.

This month’s millennial pro is Josh Robinson, vice president of marketing and hotel operations for Margaritaville Resort Casino.

1. Why do you do what you do?

I do it because I love the creativity it allows me. I love our guests, and I love working with the best team in the market.

2. Why do you work in Bossier?

I work in Bossier because this area is home. I grew up in this area, and although I have traveled extensively and could work at casinos across the country, I can’t imagine making a life somewhere else. I get to do what I love and work with people I love every day. My family and friends are here, and Bossier has a wonderful community spirit.

3. What is your favorite thing about Bossier?

Definitely the people. Southern hospitality is alive and well in Bossier, and that warmth makes this a great place to live. Bossier has a great small town feel while offering the amenities of a larger city. Great shopping, wonderful restaurants, and of course, world-class gaming.

4. Where do you like to hang out and why?

I work a lot, because it’s my passion, so I really enjoy attending concerts in Margaritaville’s Paradise Theater. We’ve been able to bring some really big names in, like Kenny Loggins, Dwight Yoakam, and Rick Springfield and Richard Marx. Our guests love it. When I’m off, I like to hang out at Eddie’s Tavern and shoot pool or go to Flying Heart Brewery. We bring our players to concerts at CenturyLink Center, which is always fun. It baffles me when people complain there is nothing to do here – there is so much great stuff happening all the time!

5. What is your favorite thing to do in Bossier?

One of my favorite things is the Markets at Pierre Bossier Mall. It is such a unique event, and you find the coolest items you don’t see anywhere else. It has a lot of charm and really brings the community out.

6. What do you personally want to accomplish in the future?

I am so proud of the dedication to community involvement that Margaritaville and our crew members have – everything from cancer research fundraising to finding homes for rescue animals to bringing the AVTT Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall to Bossier City in 2017. We’ll continue to add worthwhile causes to our list. In addition, I want to continue working to grow Margaritaville’s footprint. We have amazing things planned for the future, and I am proud to be a part of the team that will bring that to fruition.

7. If you could tell other people one thing about life in Bossier, what would it be?

Bossier is a wonderful place to live and work. The city has extremely strong leadership, and I am impressed by the wise city planning that goes into every project. From the development of the East Bank area to the immense growth in North and South Bossier, the city is constantly improving and listening to the community’s needs. You don’t see that everywhere, and it’s only going to thrive moving forward.
