The holiday season has returned to Bossier Parish, but before Santa shows up, there’s plenty of festive fun to be had this December. From shopping local, concerts, night markets, lights, trees, and fireworks, there’s something for everyone in Bossier this Christmas season. 

Women’s Christmas Gathering

The Women’s Annual Christmas Gathering is a cherished tradition of laughter, connection, and Christmas cheer that celebrates the season among friends. This event features a meal, door prizes and fellowship to prepare hearts for Christmas with guest speaker Thomason, who will inspire and encourage with her message of faith and joy.

Benton Christmas on the Square Festival and Parade

This annual festive event for Benton and all Bossier Parish residents will be held at Heritage Village Square on Sibley Street. The celebration full of holiday activities, rain or shine, include vendors set up in downtown Benton for Christmas shoppers, a kids zone, food, and photos with Santa. The annual highlight is the parade that starts at 3 p.m. Parking is free and there is a shuttle at the Bossier Parish Court House on Burt Boulevard.

3 Strands Wine Festival

Explore 100 wines in an upscale experience that will excite everyone from the novice to the most seasoned wine enthusiast, with an opportunity to broaden all palates.  This festival gives a unique, memorable wine tasting experience and invites everyone to come sip, swirl, and savor.

East Bank Cultural District Holiday Market

The Bossier Arts Council is giving the community the chance to get their Christmas Shopping done all in one place under the enormous East Bank Christmas Tree. Shop local with a large selection of locally-sourced artists, makers, and crafters decked out with holiday cheer, food trucks, and live music by the Bossier Schools Talented Arts Program Students.

Graham Barham in Concert

Graham Barham is an American country singer-songwriter and native of Oak Ridge, Louisiana, who blends traditional country elements with a modern twist, sometimes incorporating country pop and trap music genres. He achieved significant viral success with his 2022 single, “Preachers Need People.”

A Very Merry Food Truck Roundup

Celebrate the holiday season with friends, family, and cheer while giving back to the community with this event. Get out your best Christmas sweater to join local food trucks and Fill the Truck Food Drive to benefit local families in need via the Freedom Church Food Pantry. Activities include free crafts and projects for the kids, live music, free cocoa, and local food trucks serving everything from Hawaiian and Greek to hot dogs and coffee.

Rodney Carrington in Concert

Rodney Carrington is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and country music artist known for his act that combines comedy routines with original, often humorous, country songs. He has released multiple platinum- and gold-certified albums and starred in his own ABC sitcom, “Rodney,” and the film “Beer for My Horses.”

Local businesses will offer unique gifts with more than 80 different small businesses in this free shopping event. Free hot chocolate while supplies last.

Bossier Holiday Night Market

The largest one-day vendor event in the U.S. returns with the Bossier Holiday Night Market. Set to the backdrop of 50,000-plus twinkling lights and Christmas music, shoppers can indulge in more than 230 vendors, 15 food trucks, kids’ activities, free Bossier swag, and giveaways. This free event is pet-friendly and includes an indoor air-conditioned seating area and free parking.

Comedy Night

Headliner Arielle Isaac Norman, a regular tourmate of Louis C.K.’s and panelist on popular Kill Tony show, will deliver her sharp, dark humor and fearless satire. The 2024 Palm Springs International Comedy Festival winner and a two-time Funniest Person in Austin finalist will be joined by Timely Rain and Brock White-Lyons. A special discount will be offered at Seventh Tap across the street for drinks and/or dinner before the show.

Rally on the Red

A regular holiday tradition for Bossier-Shreveport is the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. Rally on the Red gets locals and visiting fans four free events to look forward to, even if you’re not a fan of big-time college football.

First up is the Mardi Gras Preview Parade that runs through the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets and East Bank District. Get an early taste of what is to come during the Mardi Gras season with this Mardi Gras Preview Parade featuring floats from a variety of local Mardi Gras Krewes and the two Independence Bowl universities’ bands and spirit squads.

When: Dec. 29, at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Starts at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets

Next up is the Battle of the Bands with the two university marching bands and spirit squads going head-to-head in a show of school spirit, surrounded by fans and locals cheering them on.

Where: East Bank Plaza in Bossier City’s East Bank District

The celebration continues with a fireworks show and free concert located right behind the East Bank Plaza in Hurricane Alley that everyone can enjoy.
