Young Bossier Entrepreneur Creates Hunting Outerwear

At just 16 years old, fueled by a passion for hunting and the outdoors, Peyton Fulghum turned a lifelong interest into a business. In 2021, Team Bandito was created, and Fulghum stepped into entrepreneurship before some teens would consider getting a first job.

“I’ve always been into the outdoors, hunting, and building something of my own,” Fulghum explained. “Bandito is my way of mixing that lifestyle with creativity and business.”
Team Bandito started as a small idea, but has turned into a full brand that represents his hard work, faith, and connection to the outdoor community. They sell hats, outerwear like hoodies and jackets, tees, and everyday apparel that’s built around the waterfowl and outdoor living. Fulghum says a lot of the merchandise is made to be worn in a blind or just as an outward expression of a hunter’s passion, and they are all designed by him.
While Fulghum launched his business at age 16, he continues to figure out how to balance the realities of growing up with the responsibilities of running a small business.
“It’s honestly a grind,” he said. “I just try to stay disciplined and make the most of my time. Most days are long, but if you really care about what you’re building, you’ll figure it out.”
This passion project began as a creative outlet for Fulghum and his friends after he realized he couldn’t find a brand that authentically reflected the way they truly live. Though it’s hard work, Fulghum knows how important it is to be steady with his efforts.
“Nothing happens overnight,” he explained. “Consistency matters more than motivation. If you show up every day and keep improving, things start to stack.”
The people of Bossier Parish have supported him and Team Bandito from the beginning. From online orders, pop-ups and follows on social media, they’ve joined Team Bandito for its quality merch and message. It’s continuing to grow, and that’s exactly the dream.
“I want to keep growing while staying true to our roots,” Fulghum said. “More products, bigger reach, and continuing to build a brand people are proud to represent.”
For anyone contemplating taking that next step in business ownership, Fulghum offers this piece of advice: start before you feel ready. Though he knew he had a dream of creating an outdoor-centered brand, he wasn’t sure how to start and actually felt underqualified.
“The truth is I had no business creating my own company,” he recalled. “I had a dream of creating an outdoor-centered brand and figured out how to make it come to life. If I can do that, so can you…remember, you’ll never have it all figured out, so take the leap and learn as you go!”
That mentality has carried Fulghum into this next chapter of success with Team Bandito. At the end of the day, he’s a normal guy chasing a dream.
“I’m grateful for every person who supports Bandito, and I don’t take any of it for granted,” he said.
