Fall in Bossier City is about to get a little more festive. This September, Hive & Harvest will welcome the community to a brand-new, locally grown pumpkin patch experience. From pumpkins growing right on the vine to family activities, photo opportunities, and locally produced honey, owner Tyson Burns hopes Hive & Harvest will become a place where families can slow down, enjoy the season, and make new fall memories together.

Bringing the Pumpkin Patch Experience to Bossier

For Burns, opening Hive & Harvest was inspired by an experience he had years ago while working at a corn maze in the Blanchard area.

“I just loved the vibe that was out there and actually seeing people come out and the joy that was on their face coming out with families,” Burns said. “I just wanted to bring that here to Bossier, and it’s something I personally love to do.”

Now, he is bringing that experience closer to home with a pumpkin patch designed to have the feel of a true farm rather than simply a place to stop and purchase a pumpkin.

Pumpkins, Family Fun and Plenty of Photo Ops

Visitors can, of course, expect plenty of pumpkins, but Burns says the experience will include more than picking out the perfect one.

Hive & Harvest plans to offer small family-friendly activities and games, including cornhole, along with a concession snack shack. There will also be photo props and designated opportunities for families, couples, and friends to capture those must-have fall pictures.

One of the features Burns believes will set Hive & Harvest apart is that some of its pumpkins are being grown right on the property.

“We’re growing live-on-the-vine pumpkins,” Burns said. “We’ll have pumpkins on the vine for y’all to come out and pick, take pictures with, and we’ll have other pumpkins that we’ll be bringing in.”

More importantly, Burns wants visitors to experience the atmosphere.

“I think a big change will be the culture that will be here,” he said. “It’s more family-focused, and it’ll feel more like a farm instead of like a parking lot pumpkin patch.”

From the Hive to the Harvest

The name Hive & Harvest has a special meaning, too.

Burns and his father are beekeepers, and bees are kept on the property. The family also produces raw, fresh honey, which will be available for purchase at the pumpkin patch.

Those bees play another important role: helping pollinate the pumpkins being grown on the property.

“With the vines, since we’re growing our own, it’s all pollinated by our bees locally here,” Burns explained.

That creates a true seed-to-finished-product experience. From the bees serving as pollinators to pumpkins growing naturally on the vines, the process is happening right here in Bossier.

Mark Your Calendar for September 26, 2026

Hive & Harvest is tentatively scheduled to open Saturday, September 26, and will operate on weekends. Current planned hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m., although hours could be adjusted based on weather and community response.

Admission details are still being finalized, with Burns considering a small entrance fee. Pumpkins will be available for purchase separately.

As a first-year pumpkin patch, Burns knows Hive & Harvest will continue to grow.

“I’m just super excited to start it out and hopefully grow,” he said.
