Looking to Get Fit? Club Pilates Opens in Bossier
Are you looking for a new way to get fit, strong, and flexible? Club Pilates, the newest Pilates studio in Bossier City, has opened its doors to help you achieve all that and more. They opened on Sept. 18th and are ready to serve the Bossier City community!
Created in the 1920s, Pilates is a type of exercise that involves a series of controlled movements that help improve strength, flexibility, balance, and posture. It usually involves a mat or equipment such as a reformer. Pilates has many benefits such as increased mobility, reduced stress, improved balance, boost flexibility, and much more!
Kelly Wynn, the assistant manager at Club Pilates Bossier has been involved in Pilates since 2018. She began as a student and has worked her way up to an assistant manager at the new Bossier Pilates location.
“I loved it and it changed my life, my body, and my whole outlook and I decided that I wanted to go through teacher training in 2021,” said Wynn. “ The teacher training was so intense and I had a full-time job at the time. At the end of the year, I decided I was going to make a go with this and do it full time.”
Although Wynn has transitioned into the business side of Pilates she admits that she still teaches classes because teaching is her passion.
“I couldn’t even sell Girl Scout cookies when I was a little girl, but I can sell this because I know it works.”
Over the years, Wynn has conducted private, semi-private, and full-class Pilates training.
As a student, Wynn became inspired by the way Pilates made her feel and she wanted to share that feeling with others.
“You see things happening from the inside out. The more you do it you will see a difference, you’re walking a little taller and your head is a little higher. It’s an experience and I can make this an experience for everyone that comes in.”
Wynn said that after a Pilates class, it feels like she has “oiled her hinges” and can move around better.
She expressed how the opening day for Club Pilates Bossier was an overwhelming feeling.
“There were so many people coming in and just so excited for this place. It’s super emotional because we have all put our heart and soul into opening this club, doing presales, and we have started with a lot more members than we thought we would.”
There was a need and a want for a Club Pilates in the Bossier City area, however, when the owners were looking for a place they were originally concerned about how far out the location was, but it was Wynn who stepped up and reassured the owners they were making the best decision to open the club in Bossier on Airline Drive. Wynn said she told the owners, “Don’t be scared, everyone coming from Benton has to pass this area. It’s a good atmosphere and a good environment. I think we will do great and succeed.”
“We provide a different atmosphere here at Bossier, we are a community here, and we are welcoming!”
“When a client walks into my Pilates class I want them to leave everything at the door. For 50 minutes focus on themselves. I think everyone needs to try Pilates. It is good for everybody and anybody. It meets you where you are. If you haven’t gotten off the couch in a while we are going to meet you where you are and help your progress” said Wynn.
Club Pilates Bossier has a class for every stage of your Pilates journey. The levels range from level 1 beginner class to level 2.5 mastery class.
