Meagan Fox’s grandfather is a Bossier High School graduate and did hair along the old Bossier strip for years. She’s now getting to continue the legacy in her own studio with her husband Micheal. 

Meagan and Micheal Fox opened Fox Hair Studios in July of 2022. Meagan has been doing hair for 15 years, and her husband, Micheal, has been doing hair for a little over a year and a half. The hair business is a new venture for Micheal, and he loves being able to make connections from eight years old to eighty years old.

“I’ve always had a variety of different jobs, different interests, and a few years ago we were having a conversation about opening up a shop of our own and what we kind of wanted to do long term and she asked me if I’d be interested in going back to school to do hair,” Micheal said. 

Fox Studios has allowed the two to impact members of the community from community organizations to haircuts for airmen, first responders, and even a state senator!

“I’ve been at three shops now, two before I opened my own, and the majority of my clients are Bossier Parish clients and they have followed me from shop to shop and supported me,” Meagan said.

The Shave Cave

Address: Inside Bossier Walmart, 2536 Airline Drive

Mercedes Butler, also known as Benz, opened The Shave Cave in 2021 and in 2024 they made the move to be the first locally owned barber shop to be housed within Walmart on Airline Drive. 

Benz has been doing hair for about ten years and his favorite part of the barbering gig is helping little ones which makes this a great place for those with children. 

“I like helping kids. Children are like a soft spot and putting a nice haircut on them is like very, very, very big for me,” Benz explained. 

He’s even written a children’s book called, “I Need a Haircut,” which talks about a little boy who has to become confident in himself before his big game. This book encourages kids to be themselves and find confidence in who they’ve been created to be. 

The move to Bossier was a big one but he’s been met with open arms and the ability to provide a service for all people. 

“It gave us an opportunity to give it a little spice,” Benz said. “Being the first barber shop inside Walmart, gave a lot of life to this city in my opinion.”

Little Pink Salon & Tanning

Located in South Bossier is the Little Pink Salon and Tanning which was opened by Rachal and Caroline Smith in 2024. This mother-daughter duo provide everything from hair cuts and color to spray tans, Red Light Therapy, eyebrow waxing, laminations, and even lash extensions, lifts and tints. 

“It’s kind of a one stop shop,” Caroline said. “It feels like home.” 

Rachal is a true South Bossier girl through and through and she has been doing hair for 15 years, and in 2023 her daughter Caroline joined her in the business. 

In addition to regular salon services, they also provide services for event hair and makeup for special occasions or formal events. They love being able to give back to the community they’ve been a part of for all these years. 

“We’ve all grown up together, so we all tend to stay close and they are more like family than clients,” Rachal said.
