Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz Opens in Bossier

What happens when two lifelong best friends combine decades of friendship, a love for serving others, and a dream of creating something special? You get Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz, a Bossier City restaurant bringing together the nostalgia of an old-fashioned soda fountain and the comfort of a classic diner.

Owned by Amy Brown and Monica Stillwell, Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz offers a welcoming atmosphere where customers can enjoy everything from sweet treats to hearty Southern meals, all while experiencing the genuine hospitality that comes from two friends who have been there for each other for nearly 40 years.

The Story Behind the Business

The idea for Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz began when Brown and Stillwell started talking about creating something together. What started as a plan for a simple stand eventually grew into a full-service restaurant after they found their current location.

“We both turned 50, and I think we lost our brains when we turned 50,” Stillwell said.

While starting a business has been challenging, the pair said it has also been one of the most rewarding experiences. From permits and paperwork to the behind-the-scenes work customers don’t always see, they quickly learned how much goes into building a business. After exploring different options, they found their current location and knew it was the right fit.

A Friendship Built to Last

Brown and Stillwell’s partnership is built on more than just business; they have been best friends since childhood.

The two met when Stillwell visited Brown’s neighbor as a child, and their friendship continued through life changes, including times when they lived apart.

Their different personalities are part of what makes their partnership work. They rely on each other’s strengths and communicate openly when making decisions.

“My strong points are her weak points, and her strong points are mine,” Stillwell explained.

That trust has helped them navigate the challenges of opening and operating a restaurant together.

A Menu Full of Southern Favorites

“If you take an old-timey soda fountain and an old diner and marry them together, this is what you get,” Stillwell said.

Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz offers a menu designed to give everyone something to enjoy. Guests can stop by for dirty sodas, snow cones, soft-serve ice cream, or one of their popular loaded brownies featuring a warm brownie topped with ice cream and toppings.

On the savory side, customers can enjoy burgers, salads, BLTs, club sandwiches, wings, and one of their biggest sellers, the Philly cheesesteak.

The restaurant also specializes in smoked meats, with everything smoked in-house using pecan wood. Their menu features favorites like the Swamp Bottom, Razorback, loaded mac and cheese, loaded fries, baked potatoes, and nachos.

Breakfast lovers can enjoy options like three-egg omelets, biscuits and sausage gravy, Southern-style hash browns, and the customer-inspired Big Robbie breakfast sandwich.

And no matter what customers order, Stillwell said one thing is guaranteed.

“If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault,” she said.

Serving More Than Food

From the beginning, Brown and Stillwell wanted Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz to be more than just another restaurant.

“We didn’t want to just be another business in Bossier. We wanted to be part of the community,” Stillwell said.

Before opening, the pair visited elementary schools in the area and provided free snow cones and ice cream cone cards for students. They also support local schools, including Haughton High School’s football program.

Each Wednesday, students and employees with Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) identification receive 15% off their purchases. The restaurant also offers discounts for military members, firefighters, and law enforcement.

Their support has been returned by the community, including Stillwell’s longtime pool league friends, who have helped spread the word about the restaurant.

Looking Ahead

As Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz continues to grow, Amy and Monica have exciting plans for the future, including the possibility of a food truck that would allow them to participate in more community events and visit schools.

They have also started offering catering and hosting groups, including birthday parties, book clubs, meetings, and special events.

Customers can also look forward to weekly Friday specials and monthly check-in challenges through social media, where guests can earn special treats.

For anyone who has not visited yet, Stillwell  has a simple message:

“If we can just get you in the door to try the food, you will come back.”

With homemade favorites, generous portions, and the heart of a 40-year friendship behind it, Bestie’s Treatz & Eatz is proving that the best recipes often include a little bit of friendship, community, and love.
