One of the biggest, and most delicious, traditions of Fat Tuesday is the king cake. This tasty, oval cake got its name from a cake made to honor the three kings during the “Twelfth Night” celebration in honor of the day the Magi visited baby Jesus bringing him gifts.
The royal colors topping the cake consist of green, representing faith, purple, representing justice and gold, representing power. The baby placed within the cake symbolizes baby Jesus and once it is found the person is granted “good luck” and the responsibility of bringing a new cake to the next gathering.
Since January 6, the twelfth night since Christmas has passed, king cake season is officially here! Some of you may have your designated place, but we have a few suggestions of where to get king cake in Bossier.
