Bird Day
This event is for the birds. But really, it is! Bring a nature buddy and learn all about wild birds and the characteristics that make them unique. Enjoy games and crafts centered around our feathered friends. Also have your picture taken with a Mississippi Kite.

Sensory Sunday
Sign up now to participate in a special day to benefit children on the spectrum. Thirty children with autism between the ages of 3 through 18 will be sponsored by Perfect Fit to enjoy Altitude Trampoline Park. Perfect Fit is a nonprofit whose goal is to create social experiences for children with autism.

Give For Good Day
Celebrate services and programs in North Louisiana and help the Community Foundation raise awareness and funds for local nonprofits. Shreveport Bonsai Society’s 47th Annual Show
Go bananas for bonsais and experience some of the featured trees of the Bonsai Society’s members during this annual show. Attend this event and view demonstrations. During the event, ask all your questions about the special materials that make up this alluring tree. The group meets each second Saturday of the month at The Bossier Arts Council.

Air Show Innovation Showcase featuring BPCC 2-Minute Drill
Hear student’s business ideas as the Entrepreneur Accelerated Program, Barksdale’s 307th Bomb Wing and Bossier Parish Community College join together for this special event. Students will present a two-minute elevator speech to a panel of judges. One student will be awarded $500. Register online to attend by clicking here.

Preakness Action at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs
Preak out! Watch live racing and wager on the action at Pimlico and Preakness 144 at Harrah’s as the journey for the Triple Crown continues. Along with live racing, there will also be plenty of opportunities for family fun, with food trucks and inflatables. This event is free.

Second Annual Rocking The Boardwalk Music Festival
Have a passion for music? Attend the largest youth-driven music festival in the Ark-La-Tex and bring the family out for a day of live performances. Ten different artists will perform for crowds throughout the day. Support young artists and hear from aspiring youths who work with New Evolution Promotions professional team to make their magic happen on stage.

Barksdale Defenders of Liberty Air and Space Show
There will be a boom in the sky yet again for an entire weekend in May during the annual Barksdale Defenders of Liberty Air and Space Show. Enjoy a show from the sky you can view at Barkdale Air Force Base. Admission and parking are free, but journey out early for the best experience. Make a weekend of the show and check the schedule online to be sure not to miss your favorite performers.

Art Isn’t Easy
Local superstars are teaming up to support the East Bank Theatre by raising money and showing off their talents. Attend this night filled with performances from more than 10 artists. All ticket sales will directly benefit the East Bank Theatre. Tickets are $25.
