No matter where you are in Bossier Parish, it’s a guarantee that July will begin this week with a bang – for fireworks and Fourth of July fun! Spend the rest of your month at a variety of summer camps or parties. Either way make sure you enjoy the rest of the summer months in Bossier.

Wednesday Glow Bowl

Get glowing at Holidays Lanes in the early afternoon. Every Wednesday the lanes will begin to glow between 1-3 p.m. If you sign up children, you get two free games of bowling everyday during the summer. Learn more on their website.

Fourth of July Party

East Bank Block Party

Join BeauxJax Crafthouse, Bayou Axe Co., and Flying Heart Brewing for an epic Independence Day Block Party in Bossier City’s East Bank District! Musical guests on the Reinhart Stage include Wayne Toups, Jimmy Wooten Trio, and Josh Love. The festival Plaza will be packed with food trucks, beer trucks, and bounce houses. Admission is FREE! Enjoy a spectacular firework show in the evening.

July 4th Independence Day Family Festival

Hang out at the Boardwalk all day for some 4th of July family fun! There will be lots of entertainment for the whole family. Stores will also be open until 9 p.m. for GREAT sales throughout the property!  Sidewalk Sales will be held throughout the day! **Bass Pro will be closing at 6 p.m. on Friday the 4th.**

Exotic Animal Races and Independence Day Race Card

Spend your Independence Day afternoon with some quality entertainment like watching exotic animals race. See Ostriches and Camels compete against one another between live horse racing. Bring the children to enjoy the Kid’s Zone with face painting and food trucks.

Shop Til You Drop Arts Craft and Gift Show

Shop one of the largest two-day boutiques of the summer. Peruse more than 70 booths filled with unique items. At this event, you will find everything from children’s items to tupperware. Admission is $4.

Trap N Paint Party Shreveport

Experience a different kind of painting party in Bossier City. If your birthday is in July, this is your time to celebrate with painting and a live DJ. Tickets are $35 and include all painting materials. Food and beverages are available for purchase. Also enter to win $250.

Forensic Science Camp

Enroll your student ages 9 to 14 to explore forensic science. This class will teach problem solving and critical thinking skills to analyze and make conclusions about mock criminal cases. Tuition is $159.

Gritonian Music and Dance Fete: Celebrating The Black Diaspora

Celebrate the moves and grooves of the black diaspora at the East Bank District. This event is aimed to raise awareness and educate the community on the connection between music, dance and the black experience. Tickets are $10 or $5 for children older than 5.

Stop and Swap

Bring 10 items to swap for the same number of items that will be new to you. Items should be new or gently used. Drop off items at the Central Library between now and July 19. Attend the July 27 event with your receipt of the goods you donated to shop for your 10 new-to-you items.

Girl Scouts in Cyber Security

All Girl Scouts are invited to a special badge day event. Girls will learn how computers communicate with each other, identity security and how to become a cyber-security investigator. This event is facilitated by troop leaders and the National Integrated Cyber Education Center subject matter experts.
