Get in the Holiday Spirit with These December Events in Bossier

If there’s any place to be this month, it’s Bossier! With light displays, local markets, holiday performances and plenty of hot chocolate, these events will spark the holiday spirit in just about any Scrooge or Grinch. Plus, you’ll run into Santa at just about any of these events.

Christmas Light Show at Holmes Honda

It might seem strange to go to a car dealership to enjoy lights, but in Bossier City, it’s a thing! Stop by Holmes Honda Bossier City as they feature over 100,000 LED lights and a pretty impressive display of animated characters. Each night through Jan. 1, the show begins at 5:30 p.m. The display is synced to music and this year Holmes has six songs.

2019 Base Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Mark the official start of the holiday season beginning Dec. 4 with a special tree lighting ceremony. Sing along with Christmas carols, hot chocolate and you might even see the jolly old fellow himself. The social begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the event kick-off at 6 p.m.

A Country Christmas Carol

You’ve probably seen “A Christmas Carol” a ton of times, but this year, be a part of a live audience to witness the country version of this story. This tale follows a disgruntled farmer searching for his farmhands. Three ghosts show up and, well, it’s similar to the Charles Dickens’ version but this country twist adds a little more to the mix. Admission is free, but you should bring a few canned goods to donate to The Northwest Louisiana Food Bank.

J.D. an East Bank Readers Theatre Event

The East Bank Theatre hosts local author George Sewell for a unique story. Jeanette Danette Lambert marries into an old Louisiana political family. Ten years later, following a divorce, she decides to run for mayor against her ex. Tickets are $15.

Christmas in CandyVille

Leave the diet at the door and visit CandyVille at CenturyLink. For two days, the CenturyLink Center will transform into a sweet interactive holiday venue. Activities, crafts, food and more will all be a part of this event. Plus, take pictures with Mrs. Claus. Tickets are $10.

Gingerbread House Competition

Calling all confectioners and bakers. Here’s a chance to show off your skills at a Gingerbread House Decorating Competition. Bring your own house kit and show off your talent. All houses must be constructed at the location and you must bring your own supplies. Prizes will be awarded.

James Burton’s Louisiana Rockin’ Christmas

Rock out this Christmas with local talented musician James Burton. Listen and sing along to seasonal favorites to get you in the Christmas spirit. Tickets are $30 and benefit the James Burton Foundation, which supports music education for those in need.

New Year’s Eve Celebration and Fireworks Show
