The holidays are almost here, and while it’s time for turkey, shopping, and decorating, there are plenty of other ways to keep you and your family busy in Bossier. From a slew of concerts to sports and help with holiday shopping, plan your agenda with these events in Bossier Parish for November:

James Burton International Guitar Festival

This fundraiser for the James Burton Foundation, which supports music education programs, also honors the legendary guitarist. Featuring the legendary Emmylou Harris, this concert will also feature John Foster, Johnny Owens, Marty Haggard, and Angus Gill, with Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs serving as the house band.

Cody Johnson in Concert

Country singer and songwriter Cody Johnson brings his contemporary and neo-traditionalist style to Bossier City. Influenced by artists like George Strait and Willie Nelson, Cody has achieved significant success with Country Music Association, Country Music Television, and iHeart Music Awards, including “Album of the Year” and “Best New Country Artist.”

When: Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.

Plant a Flag, Plant a Tree Giveaway

Keep Bossier Beautiful invites the community to celebrate Veterans Day with a gift to the land we love. There are two opportunities to plant one of 250 12-inch by 18-inch flags and trees, including bald cypress, red maple, shumard oak, and eastern redbud. This event was made possible by a grant from the Arbor Day Foundation. Available while supplies last.

When: Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 from 8 a.m.

Aaron Lewis and the Stateliners in Concert

Led by the former rock frontman Aaron Lewis of Staind, this country band is currently on their “American as It Gets” tour and performing a mix of Lewis’s country solo material, such as “Sinner,” and older hits like Staind’s “It’s Been Awhile.” Lewis is known for his solo work of patriotic and storytelling songs, which includes two number one Billboard Country Albums.

Nate Smith in Concert

Nate Smith brings his powerful voice and chart-topping hits to the stage. His remarkable rise came after his song “Wildfire” went viral on TikTok in 2020 with more than 3 million views and two subsequent albums.

Adult 40 & Over State Tennis Tournament

The US Tennis Association of Louisiana is offering tennis players 40 and over, and fans of all ages, a fun and exciting weekend of sport with players from all over the state. Levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 men and women teams are offered in a format with each team match consisting of 3 courts of doubles. 

When: Nov. 14-16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MMA Real Deal Championship

A stacked card of professional and amateur Mixed Martial Arts fighters get into the cage to test their skills and heart at this championship event. Rising newcomers and seasoned vets will deliver knockouts, submission holds, and nonstop action in an incredible, big fight atmosphere.

Mistletoe and More Show

This festive event is filled with holiday cheer, unique gifts, and delicious treats, with gift ideas ranging from handmade crafts and one-of-a-kind treasures to special foods from a large variety of vendors across the ArkLaTex. Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift or just want to soak in the holiday spirit, this show has something for everyone. Attendees can win hourly door prizes and special photo ops with the Grinch twice on Nov. 21 and three times on Nov. 22.

25th Anniversary Real Cowboy Association National Black Rodeo

The baddest show on dirt returns to celebrate a quarter century filled with excitement for the entire family. This year’s event will have bull riding, ranch bronc riding, barrel racing, calf roping, and all other major rodeo events with Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the United States. Witness the historical Pony Express Relay Race, along with a national recording artist providing live entertainment for all ages.

Midland in Concert

The Texas-based country group swings through Bossier to play for fans of neotraditional country. With seven Billboard country hits and double Grammy nominations, the group is reintroducing the Western plains, Laurel Canyon-cum-Bakersfield and Lone Star juke joints to Country music.
