Oakland Plantation Country Club – Plain Dealing, LA

Located in the Town of Plain Dealing, this course was built by the people and for the people. When residents of Plain Dealing decided they wanted a golf course, they all came together to build Oakland Plantation Country Club. Literally! They brought their tractors to dig the course and smoothed out the greens by hand. Owner Al Wyche has taken this inherited plantation land and created a country club with a family feel.

The semi-private country club accepts guests and offers a challenging course without being too costly. It is definitely a best kept secret in Bossier Parish. Oakland Plantation currently has 15 holes but offers players the chance to play 18 by replaying holes one through three from a different starting point. The remaining three holes are currently being designed and completed. This course has a clubhouse space which is included in membership dues or can be rented out through the course manager, Becky Lowe.

Oakland Plantation is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Guest prices are $15 on the weekend and holidays and $10 on the weekday. If you have a little golfer, it will cost $5. Players can bring their own carts or rent one starting at $8 for 9 holes or $15 for 18 holes. To reserve ahead of time or see about a membership application, call 318-326-5555.
